Faith is preserved and strengthened through love for the Ahl al-Bayt: Deputy Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran

Addressing the Friday congregation at Jamia Shaykh-ul-Islam, Model Town, Lahore, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri, Deputy Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran, said that the Holy Qur'an has made both remembrance (dhikr) and reflection (fikr) essential for the complete guidance of humanity. He explained that people of understanding remember Allah in every circumstance and attain true recognition of Him by reflecting upon the creation of the universe, the order of the heavens and the earth, and the countless signs of His power. This approach, he said, leads a person to complete guidance and closeness to Allah.
He emphasized that Muslims should not only commemorate the tragedy of Karbala and remember the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), but should also reflect deeply on their exemplary character, unparalleled sacrifices, and universal teachings. Merely remembering them without drawing practical guidance from their message and noble conduct deprives the Ummah of the profound lessons that the plains of Karbala offer to the Muslim world.
Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri stated that love for the Ahl al-Bayt is neither optional nor secondary; rather, according to the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, it is a great religious obligation and an essential requirement of faith. A heart filled with love for the Ahl al-Bayt remains illuminated by the light of faith.
He further said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) endured immense hardships, trials, and sacrifices to convey the message of Islam to humanity. The blessings of faith, the Qur'an, and the Sunnah that the Muslim Ummah enjoys today are the fruits of the Prophet's unparalleled struggle, tireless mission, and extraordinary sacrifices. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every Muslim to make love, reverence, and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt an integral part of their faith.
He added that anyone wishing to understand the true essence of faith and appreciate the lofty status of the Ahl al-Bayt should attend gatherings in which they are remembered, study their noble lives, and implement in their own lives the timeless values they embodied—truth, patience, steadfastness, loyalty, and sacrifice. Such love for the Ahl al-Bayt, he said, guides a believer toward the pleasure of Allah and the closeness of His Noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
Concluding his address, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has consistently presented the Muslim Ummah with the comprehensive message of both remembrance and reflection. In line with this vision, the educational and spiritual gatherings organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran not only highlight the virtues and merits of the Ahl al-Bayt but also emphasize their character, teachings, and enduring message. The objective, he said, is to ensure that the Ummah's devotion extends beyond emotional attachment and is translated into practical adherence to their noble example, enabling Muslims to shape their lives in accordance with the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
