Glasgow, Scotland: A special meeting was held between the MQI Dundee Local Executive Committee, community representatives from Edinburgh Adabi Dera and the Pakistan Society, together with His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for meaningful dialogue, collaboration and the strengthening of community relations.
Community members expressed their deep appreciation for the vision and lifelong services of Shaykh-ul-Islam. They were particularly inspired by the engaging question-and-answer session, during which Shaykh-ul-Islam addressed a wide range of topics with wisdom, insight and clarity. Participants remarked that the session left a lasting impression and further strengthened their admiration for his services to the Muslim community.
Dr Khalid Mehmood, President of MQI Scotland, and Qaiser Habib, General Secretary of MQI Scotland, welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction to Edinburgh Adabi Dera and the Pakistan Society. They highlighted the collaborative work already undertaken between these organisations, Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Minhaj Welfare Foundation.
Special recognition was given to Mujahid-ul-Islam for his instrumental role in facilitating the initial meetings and establishing links with the community organisations. Qazi Muddassar of Minhaj Welfare Foundation was also commended for his dedication and commitment in regularly travelling to Edinburgh to maintain engagement and strengthen relations with the local community.
Representing Edinburgh Adabi Dera, Mr Tahir Bashir introduced members of the organisation and welcomed the opportunity to work closely with MQI. He expressed his full support for future collaboration and gave his assurance that the work and activities of Minhaj-ul-Quran International would begin in Edinburgh, enabling more people to benefit from the vision and teachings of Shaykh-ul-Islam.
The meeting also explored a forward-looking vision for pioneering Islamic education and training centres equipped with modern artificial intelligence capabilities, combining traditional Islamic learning with contemporary technology.
Also present were Saleem Sahib, President of MQI Dundee; Rehan Ahmed Raza, President of MQI Glasgow; Ihtasham Khan, General Secretary of MQI Glasgow; Allama Shahid Babar, President of the Scholars Forum; Allama Ghulam Samdani, Director of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dundee; together with other office-bearers and members of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
The MQI Glasgow team played an important role in supporting the arrangements and helping make the gathering a memorable occasion.
The meeting concluded on a positive and inspiring note, with all participants expressing their commitment to strengthening cooperation and working collectively for the benefit of the wider community. The gathering marked an important step towards expanding MQI’s educational, spiritual and welfare initiatives across Edinburgh and Scotland.
