Young People Should Purify Their Hearts Through Repentance and Humble Supplication Before Allah: Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi and Ahmad Nawaz Anjum

Minhaj-ul-Quran International held its monthly Majlis Khatm al-Salawat 'ala al-Nabi ﷺ yesterday at Jami' Shaykh-ul-Islam, Model Town, Lahore. A large number of men and women from different walks of life participated in the spiritually uplifting gathering.
Addressing the congregation, Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi said that abundant istighfar (seeking Allah's forgiveness) and sincere weeping and supplication before Allah cleanse the rusted mirror of the heart. He observed that excessive attachment to worldly desires has caused many people to lose sight of the eternal reality of the Hereafter. He stressed that it is imperative for the younger generation to make their hearts the abode of love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. By purifying their hearts of superstitions and false beliefs, he said, they can transform them into a dwelling place of the remembrance of Allah.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has consistently encouraged young people to embody the teachings and noble character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by engaging in voluntary night worship and remaining devoted to the remembrance of Allah. He added that today's greatest need is to lessen the relentless pursuit of worldly possessions and instead enrich our hearts through the remembrance of Allah.
Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Shaykh-ul-Islam has always emphasized the importance of education and spiritual training. He noted that the monthly Majlis Khatm al-Salawat, the annual Shahr-e-I'tikaf (City of Spiritual Retreat), and the International Mawlid Conference all serve as important platforms for the spiritual development and moral refinement of believers.
The gathering commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Qari Syed Khalid Hameed Kazmi Al-Azhari. Renowned Pakistani naat reciters Shakeel Ahmad Tahir, Abdul Sabuh Qadri, and Qari Ubaidullah Chishti presented heartfelt poetic tributes in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Among those present were Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Mian Zahid Islam, Alhaj Abdul Ghafoor Qadri, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Jawad Hameed, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Iqbal Hussain Bajwa, Noorullah Siddiqui, Hafeezullah Javed, Bashir Khan Lodhi, Allama Latif Madani, and Tayyab Zia.
The gathering concluded with a special prayer led by Allama Ahsan Owais for the Muslim Ummah, Pakistan, and the wider Muslim world.
