Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has said that reverence and respect for the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are fundamental requirements of faith. He stated that expressing gratitude for the blessings and favors bestowed by Allah is an essential expression of servitude and devotion.
He said that Allah has blessed humankind with countless favors, yet has never reminded people of His favors as an act of reproach. However, by sending the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Allah Almighty bestowed upon humanity the greatest of all blessings and explicitly reminded believers of this immense favor. The Qur’an states: “Indeed, Allah has bestowed a great favor upon the believers by sending among them a Messenger from among themselves.”
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further stated that those who show gratitude for Allah’s blessings are granted even greater blessings by Him, whereas those who are ungrateful have been warned of punishment. He said that when Allah Almighty Himself describes the blessed advent of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in the Qur’an as a divine blessing, there is every reason to express joy and happiness at the arrival of this magnificent blessing and, in doing so, offer gratitude to Allah.
He said that Minhaj-ul-Quran International organizes its annual International Milad Conference in accordance with this belief and commitment: that celebrating the blessing of the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and expressing gratitude for it will bring countless blessings and favors from Allah.
He added that hearts filled with love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ naturally make special arrangements to celebrate his blessed birth. The Qur’an commands believers to speak openly of the blessings of their Lord, stating: “And proclaim the blessings of your Lord.” Therefore, he urged believers to remember and celebrate the blessed birth and advent of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, thereby becoming deserving of further divine blessings and favors.
