New initiative by Minhaj-ul-Quran Directorate of Training warmly appreciated at impressive inaugural ceremony
Minhaj-ul-Quran has developed a modern multimedia teaching methodology for the instruction of Quran translation, designed to meet the educational and pedagogical needs of students from Grade 6 through university level. Through this innovative system, an easy-to-understand translation of the Holy Quran will be taught through visual, practical, and engaging methods, enabling the younger generation not only to read the Quran but also to understand its meaning.
The speakers expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Quran Translation program and a Milad al-Nabi ﷺ gathering organized by the Directorate of Training, Minhaj-ul-Quran, at the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. The ceremony featured a practical introduction to modern methods of teaching and understanding the Holy Quran, along with a multimedia presentation demonstrating the new methodology.
Hafiz Zubair Hassan, Chairman of the Punjab Quran Board, said in his keynote address that the Quran Translation program launched by the Minhaj-ul-Quran Directorate of Training is an outstanding and commendable scholarly initiative. He emphasized that making use of modern resources, technology, and effective teaching methodologies to promote Quranic education and bring the younger generation closer to the Holy Quran is an essential need of the present age. He congratulated Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and the leadership of Minhaj-ul-Quran on this important initiative for promoting understanding of the Quran.
Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Najm said that, since its inception, Minhaj-ul-Quran has made strengthening people's connection with the Holy Quran and spreading its teachings one of its foremost priorities. He said that, in view of the needs of the younger generation, it is now essential to complement traditional methods of Quranic education with multimedia, technology, and visual learning tools.
Allama Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi described the modern Quran Translation software and teaching methodology as a valuable step forward in promoting Quranic understanding. He noted that the system has been further refined and enhanced in light of practical experience and feedback from students.
Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, Director of the Directorate of Training, gave a briefing on the modern multimedia teaching methodology. He explained that the system enables students to learn an easy-to-understand translation of the Holy Quran alongside Quran memorization. The curriculum is being taught progressively to students enrolled in Quran memorization programs. The practical effectiveness of the new methodology was also demonstrated when a young female student recited verses of the Holy Quran along with their translation.
Ayesha Shabbir, Director of the E-School System, said that merely teaching children to recite the Quran is not enough; it is equally important to help them understand its meaning, wisdom, and message. She said the modern teaching methodology can play an effective role in cultivating an interest in Quranic understanding from an early age and connecting the Quran's message with practical life.
As part of the Milad al-Nabi ﷺ gathering, a special address by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on the virtues and excellence of the Holy Quran was also broadcast. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by devotional presentations in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The event was attended by Al-Haj Abdul Ghafoor Qadri, Muhammad Jawad Hamid, Professor Saleem Ahmad Chaudhry, Chaudhry Umar Daraz, Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, Dr. Mir Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri, Muhammad Iqbal Mustafa, Wing Commander Muhammad Ghaffar Khan, Iqbal Hussain Bajwa, Sardar Umar Daraz Khan Siahar, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, as well as scholars, religious leaders, teachers, students, women, children, and representatives from various walks of life.
The ceremony concluded with Salat-o-Salam, followed by a special prayer for the security and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah, a stronger connection with the Holy Quran, and the welfare and well-being of the Muslim community.
