On the 21st of October MWL Halifax held a Sayyeda Zainab (AS) Conference at the Minhaj library, Halifax.
All the Sisters recited Durood Sharif for the first half hour. The programme was hosted by Sister Nahid Shahid, MWL Halifax President. She quoted Hadith regarding the lives of the Ahle Bayt (AS). She also read poetry on the significance of the great sacrifices made by the Ahle Bayt. She also spoke about the reward of the compulsory act of working to spread the message of Islam.
The Conference commenced with Tilawat by Sister Robina Saghir, MWL Dawah Secretary. She recited Surah Kafiroon. Sister Iffat Zahid, MWL Membership Secretary, recited a Hamd in praise of Allah Almighty. Sister Shaheena Riaz, MWL Welfare Secretary, Sister Hafeez un Nisa and Sister Asma Parveen recited a Naat to praise our beloved Prophet (Peace and Blessings upon him).
Sister Jamila Akhter, MWL North Zone Dawah Secretary, recited heartfelt Kalaam and Manqabats were recited by Sister Sajida Ilyas, MWL Halifax General Secretary, to invoke the emotions around the tragedy of Karbala.
Sister Zobia Arif delivered a heartfelt speech around the definition of Islam and the faith aspect of the religion. She spoke about the significant role that Sayyeda Zainab (AS) played in and subsequent to Karbala in spreading the message of Islam. She highlighted how the Sayyeda is a role model for women of today, adding that we should follow her in her footsteps to continue to propagate the real message of Islam through the platform of Minhaj-ul-Quran. She spoke about the ongoing efforts of the founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
An emotional Dua was made and Salaam was sent upon our beloved Prophet (Peace and Blessings upon him). Packed food was given to the participants.
