Addressing a special cake cutting ceremony to mark the 38th foundation day of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Chief Justice took notice of the act of barbarism committed against innocent Zainab, and the family of the murdered girl has got justice. He said that the heirs of the martyrs of Model Town want that a similar notice of the carnage should be taken. He said that the Sharif brothers deserve far worse treatment than what is being meted out to them. He said that the removal of the officers up to the rank of DSP is welcome, hoping that the officers of higher rank would also be removed from the field duty. He said that making the accused OSD is merely the beginning of a long drawn out process and many stages are left to be covered for justice. He said that Imran Khan assured of provision of justice in a telephone call and we are hopeful that the government would come good on its promise.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the 17th of June was the most heart-rending day during his political struggle. He said that 23 PAT workers were martyred on June 17 and between August 30 and 31, 2014, adding that 56 fake FIRs were registered against the hundreds of the PAT workers. He said that we did not lose heart and remained consistent. He said that we did whatever we could in the pursuit of our struggle and would continue to do so until we achieve the objective. He said that it is not just the duty of our workers to stage sit-ins, adding that our struggle for the objectives outlined during the first sit-in is still afoot.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri cut the cake of the 38th foundation day of MQI. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Brig. (r) Iqbal Ahmad, GM Malik, Rafique Najam, Syed Altaf Shah, Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmad, Noorullah Siddiqi, Jawad Hamid, and the leaders of the MSM, Women Wing, Youth League, Ulama Council and the Lawyers Wing were also present on the occasion.
Throwing light on the 38-year old struggle of the MQI, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that it is the only movement in the world that has set up its effective and efficient network in 90 countries of the world. He said that the MQI won global applause for its work of promoting religious harmony, tolerance and interfaith dialogue. He said that Welfare Foundation, Orphan Care Home and a vast network of educational institutions are some of the flagship initiatives set up by the MQI. He said that the MQI has particularly focused on moral and spiritual training of the youth, adding that various PhDs are being conducted on the work of the MQI in different countries at the moment. He further stated that 14 PhDs have been completed on his work. He said that we are satisfied on the progress achieved by the MQI during past 37 years.
