Addressing Women Convention on the occasion of the MWL’s 30th foundation day, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the women did not get their rightful place in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He said that those who did not give proper attention to women’s education and empowerment during their governments are the criminals of the nation. He said that provision of equal rights to the women is to enable them to play their due role in social, political and economic life of the country. He said if there is any organization that is practically working for the women empowerment, it is Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League. He said that the MWL workers have waged an enviable struggle for comprehensive reforms and the change in the system.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri congratulated the workers and the office bearers of MWL on the 30th foundation day and lauded their services. He said that the targets of education and spiritual training for which he founded the MWL 30 years have been satisfactorily achieved. He said that the MWL has a strong organizational network across the four provinces of the country including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, thus providing a strong platform for raising of awareness of women rights.
Mrs. Farah Naz, central President of the MWL, said on the occasion that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri wants restoration of the political, economic, social and legal rights of the women. He said that this movement which was set up 30 years ago has grown to become the largest and most effective voice for the women rights. She asked the women to recognize their responsibility and contribute their share in fulfilling them at individual and collective levels. She said that the vision that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has articulated for the progress of the country, there is a special role for women in realizing it. She said that on the occasion of the MWL’s 30th foundation day, we pledge to double down our efforts to continue working for women rights and progress and prosperity of the country.
The 30th foundation day of the MWL was celebrated across the country with traditional religious fervor. The cakes were cut and the pledge reiterated that the MWL will continue to work for peaceful change, and the women rights.
