Congratulating the workers, associates and the members of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) throughout the world, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said the heinous agenda to link Islam with terrorism has been defeated. He said the organization rejected the biased and misleading agenda of defaming Islam by lumping it with terrorism in the light of the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunna. He said we told the Muslim and non-Muslim societies that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism. Rather this great religion guarantees peace and respect of humanity and builds bridges. He said MQI is also battling the attacks of 'khawarij' on Islam. He said we are making sincere efforts to put the youth on the path to peace, and knowledge.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while addressing the central foundation-day ceremony held at Model Town through video link. He said MQI has revived the traditions and scholarly and spiritual role of our forefathers. He said the millions of the youth in the world have been persuaded to the peaceful message of Islam as a result of revivalist and reformative efforts of the MQI. He said the aims and objectives for which he founded the MQI 39 years ago have been accomplished satisfactorily. He prayed to Allah Almighty to accept the efforts that the workers made from the platform of MQI. He said the people came to develop a larger understanding of the Islamic message of peace, harmony, moderation, and egalitarianism, thanks to the MQI's work over the decades.
Meanwhile, the 39th foundation of MQI was celebrated with traditional fervour in over 100 countries including Pakistan. The seminars, workshops and the foundation-day ceremonies were held in different parts of the world to pay rich tributes to the four-decade old struggle of Dr Qadri. MQI workers and associates attended these programmes in a large number and prayed for health and long life of their leader. They also renewed their pledge to keep working for the ideals of peace, knowledge and interfaith harmony that define the work of MQI.
A central ceremony marking the foundation day was held at the MQI secretariat. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said MQI was launched in Lahore during 1980s and today it has grown into one of the largest organizational networks in the world. He said Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has been promoting Islamic message of peace and love in the world, addressing misperceptions and actively and confidently putting the peaceful message of Islam at the centre of global conversation.
Brig. (r) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Engr. Rafique Najam, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, GM Malik, Syed Altaf Shah Gilani, Jawad Hamid, Ayesha Mubasher, Umme Habiba, Kalsoom Javed, Tayyab Zia, Ayub Ansari, Qari Riyasat Ali and others were also present on the occasion. A special Dua was made for long life and health of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Different Directorates of MQI cut cakes to mark the establishment of the MQI and made prayers for peace and progress in the country. MQI leaders congratulated the workers on the movement's foundation day.
