Ration has been distributed among more than 500 deserving families belonging to Mughalpura, Lal Pul, and Fatehgarh areas of Lahore under the banner of the Minhaj Welfare Foundation. The ration packets consisted of essential items of daily use such as tea leaves, rice, dates, and soaps, etc. All precautionary measures were adopted on the occasion of the distribution of the ration. It is pertinent to mention that a large number of working people and labourers have been affected by the lockdown on account of Covid-19.
MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Deputy Director MWF Khurram Shahzad, MQI Lahore leader Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal, and others distributed the ration. Shahbaz Hussain Bhatti, Haji Muhammad Ejaz, Haji Arshad, Rana Faisal Mahmood, Muhammad Waqas Khalid and other leaders were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the service of suffering humanity is the source of peace of mind. He said goods worth millions of rupees have been distributed among the deserving people during the last one and a half months. He said that this process of distribution will continue until the lifting of the lockdown. He stated that various local chapters and sister organizations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International are reaching out to people in acute need a day in and day out.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that all routine activities have been suspended on the special instructions of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and all resources are being deployed for the support and assistance of the families affected by the lockdown.
Khurram Shahzad, Deputy Director, while speaking on the occasion said that the Minhaj Welfare Foundation has always been at the forefront of efforts to support the suffering humanity whenever any calamity strikes. He asked the people to extend as much help as they can as this was high time to support our brothers and sisters experiencing extreme hardship.
