There is no space for a purposeless life in Islam. A life that is not devoted to a purpose is no life in fact. Purposelessness is the biggest bane of our times. Parents, teachers, and religious scholars need to come together for the establishment of a civilized society and the promotion of moral values.
MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while addressing an online session of spiritual training. He said that MQI is a global movement working for the promotion of peace, harmony, interfaith dialogue, social and spiritual reform of society, and purification of the heart with a special emphasis on purposeful education and character-building.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Islam has provided a comprehensive code of conduct for the training of man starting from his birth to old age. He said that endeavoring for the unity in the ranks of Muslims, eradicating sectarianism and hatred represent a great service to Islam.
Dr Qadri advised the parents not to lose sight of their duty of bringing up children. He said that they should prioritize the task of making their children obedient, law-abiding, practicing Muslims as well as useful citizens over and above every other engagement. He said the kind of training imparted to the children by their parents these days is led to socially adverse effects that are visible to society. He said that instead of raising fingers at others for the social ills found in society, it is imperative that teachers, parents, and religious scholars carry out introspection.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that there is a need for special attention and requisite socio-spiritual training at every stage of human life, adding that when all phases of the evolution underpinned by required education and training are complete, a man comes into being in his best version and shape. He said that all teachings of Islam are meant to organize a disciplined life by weaving social, moral, political, and economic values into its structure.
Shaykh-ul-Islam urged the workers to attend to the duty of doing good and stopping evil by playing a socially productive role in their neighborhoods. He said that trying to make the worldly life ascendant over the eternal life of the hereafter is a bad bargain and a manifest error. He said the objective of a Muslim's life is to obey Allah and His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
