The politics of PMLN is pushing the country towards a deadly clash: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that unless the PMLN and JUI-F are disarmed, there is a real danger of a deadly clash. He said that going by the preparations of both the parties, it appears as if they will face a militant organization, not the police. He said that their intention is to get poor workers killed in a show-down so that they could launch propaganda against the state of Pakistan at the global level. He said that the motto of Maulana is that either he is included in the power game or he will upend the game for everyone else. He said that protecting the NAB is the foremost responsibility of the government, stating that the PMLN has a history of attacking courts and perpetrating senseless violence.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur made these remarks in a meeting with Secretary Information Noorullah Siddiqui, Rana Zahid Mahmood, and Arif Chaudhry. The PAT Secretary-General said that Maryam Nawaz wants to go to the NAB office along with the militant wing of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman for fear of being arrested. He said that Maryam claims to speak for hundreds of thousands of people but it has been seven years since the Model Town massacre but she did not have the courage to express her sympathies with the orphan girls of Shaheed Shazia Murtaza and Tanzila Amjad. He said that given the brand of politics being played by Maryam, she along with her husband Capt (r) Safdar has been responsible for making Nawaz Sharif irrelevant, something no one else could achieve. He said that there were stains of bloodshed and corruption on Nawaz Sharif but his daughter has made him occupy the position of Altaf Hussain.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Maryam Nawaz launched a campaign against the Pakistan military from the PM House and the result is that her politics has made the PMLN become the 'party of the road'. He said there is a deep sense of anxiety and anger among the patriotic people due to her anti-military statements. He said that Maulana, who once considered the rule by a woman leader as forbidden, made it to the headship of the PDM with the support of the PMLN, and today he is reciprocating the gesture by becoming the bodyguard of Maryam Safdar. He said that Maulana is making the N League wear the medals of extremism and radicalism, adding that if Maryam continues to lead the PMLN, the whole leadership will be behind bars.

The PAT Secretary-General said that Asif Ali Zardari suffered the rigors of imprisonment for a long time because of Nawaz Sharif and the allegation of cutting off his tongue is also on Nawaz. He said that Sharif is known for stabbing his political opponents, adding that the Model Town tragedy is its biggest proof. He said that Maulana wants a Model Town-like massacre while leading a charge at the NAB office. He said that the purpose of mobbing the NAB is an attempt to scare the state and if the institutions remain quiet on it, they will be considered accomplices.

In a reply to a question, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri showed the real face of the electoral system in 2013 and of the whole system in the sit-in of 2014. He said that whatever Dr Qadri said in his speeches at the 72-day long sit-in, the courts have endorsed it. He said the nation is still being deceived, stating that as long as the current system stays intact, the plunder will continue.

PAT leader expressed his deep concern about the increase in the prices of electricity and gas. He said that on the one hand, the PM says that the inflation will be controlled and the prices of utilities are increasing by the day on the other. He said when the prices of such essential services get hiked, it has a domino effect and leads to more dearness. He said that the idea of shifting the burden on the people on to the people as a means of paying back the foreign debt needs to be changed. He said that the government must take steps to increase the tax net and promote business activities.
