Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri speaks at a memorial reference for Naat reciters
The Hassaan bin Thabit Na‘t Research Center, Minhaj University Lahore, arranged a memorial reference to pay tributes to internationally known Naat khawan Khalid Hasnain Khalid and other Naat reciters. Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Chairman Board of Governors of MUL Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Naat reciters are that segment that follows the practice of the Holy Companions. He said that if there is the blessing of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) behind the act of reciting Naat, 'manqabat' and Hamd, such Naat reciters will have life-long reputation. He said that those who recite Naat should remember that 'Naatia kalam' and its tune should be in line with the high status, respect and reverence of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), stating that they should beware of being irreverent owing to the competitive urge of being ahead of others and being a follower of so-called popular trends. He said that 'kalam' should be reflective of the pious Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and it should reflect a dominant sense of love, and respect towards the person of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said that the Hassaan bin Thabit Na‘t Research Center will guide the youth in learning the craft of the Naat recitation. He paid rich tributes to Khalid Hasnain Khalid for his amazing contributions to Naat recitation.
Sajjada Nasheen Pir Khawaja Ghulam Qutub-ud-Din Faridi, who attended the memorial reference, as the guest of honour, said in his remarks that Khalid Hasnain Khalid was a renowned Naat reciter who had the honour of reciting Naat in such a mesmerizing style that the verses of his Naat would melt the hearts. He congratulated Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri on establishing the Hassan Bin Sabit Research Center.
In his welcome speech, Director of the Hassaan bin Thabit Na‘t Research Center and Dean Languages Dr Farkhar-ud-Din Noori said that Allah Almighty keeps the names of those alive who remember His beloved Prophet (pbuh). He said that the Hassan Bin Sabit Research Naat Center of MUL will continue to play his role to encourage research into the art and science of Naat, and pay tributes to the Naat reciters.
Sahibzada Tasleem Ahmad Sabri said in his speech that Khalid Hasnain Khalid perfected the art of the Naat recitation. He was a thorough gentleman and known as someone who had dedicated his life to the remembrance of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in the form of Naat. He shared with the youth the secrets of reciting Naats. He expressed his satisfaction at the fact that the Naat Research Center that has been set up under the direct patronage of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has become a seat of great learning so far as Naat is concerned.
Renowned anchorperson Safdar Ali Mohsin also spoke at the memorial reference and said that Deputy Chairman BoG, MUL Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, all scholars and office-holders associated with Hassaan bin Thabit Na‘t Research Center deserve to be congratulated for setting up a tradition of paying tributes to the Naat reciters at the level of the University.
Allama Naveed Haider said in his speech that Khalid Hasnain Khalid made Naat the source of serving the religion and promoting the love of the Holy Prophet (SAW). He paid glowing tributes to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for his great initiative of establishing the Naat Center and recognizing the contributions of Naat reciters with respect.
Hafiz Marghoob Ahmad Hamdani said in his remarks that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is a great fan of and has immense respect for the Naat reciters. He said that Shaykh-ul-Islam would often take him along during his foreign travels, adding that it is his family that has got the honour to pay homage to the Naat reciters. He also presented his famous Naat on the occasion.
The rich tributes were paid to late Naat reciters namely Khalid Hasnain Khalid, Al-Haj Yousaf Memon, and Mahboob Hamdani on the occasion. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi, Muhammad Afzal Noshahi, Masood Shakir, Sardar Khalid, Qari Muhammad Younis Qadri, Syed Hasnain, Hassan-ul-Mustafa, Syed Ijaz Hussain Ajiz and others spoke at the memorial reference.
