A special prayer ceremony marking the 71st birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was held at the central secretariat. Shaykh-ul-Islam attended the ceremony online. Pir Dewan Ahmad Masood Chishti, Sajjada Nasheen Dargah Baba Fareeduddin Masood Ganjshakar (R.A), presided over the ceremony. In addition to President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Brig. (r) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Altaf Hussain Gillani, GM Malik, Dr Sajid Mehmood Shahzad, Noorullah Siddiqui, Jawwad Hamid, Mazhar Alvi, Irfan Yousaf, Farah Naz, Sidra Karamat, a large number of MQI and PAT workers and leaders attended the ceremony.
The prayer ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat. A special Dua was made for the good health and long life of Shaykh-ul-Islam, peace and prosperity of Muslim Ummah, and riddance from the twin challenges of terrorism and corona pandemic. Renowned Qawwal Faiz Ali Faizi, Sher Miandad, Afzal Noshahi, Shahbaz Qamar Faridi, Milad Raza Qadri, Muhammad Zaheer Bilali, Amjad Bilali, Shahzad brothers, and Hamza Noshahi presented their kalam in the court of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).
Tasleem Ahmad Sabri and Safdar Ali Mohsin conducted the proceedings of the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that there is a need to take inspiration and guidance from the thought and struggle of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in order to spread the Islamic message of peace, love and brotherhood.
The speakers attending the prayer ceremony paid rich tributes to Shaykh-ul-Islam on his multifaceted services in different walks of life. They emphasized the need of carrying his mission forward to fight the contemporary challenges. At the end of the ceremony, the birthday cake was cut.
