A ceremony was held for the resident children of Orphan Care Home (Aghosh), a welfare institute of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur distributed gifts among the children on behalf of the public relations department. Director Aghosh Complex Col. (r ) Mubashir Iqbal, Noorullah Siddiqui, Shahzad Rasool, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, the staff members of Aghosh Orphan Care Home, and caretakers of the children attended the ceremony.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and other leaders spent some time with the children and chatted with them about matters of their interest. Speaking on the occasion, Gandapur said that Islam has ordained us to extend excellent treatment to the orphans. He said that our religious teachings are clear with regards to our duties and obligations of the orphans and the poor. He said that we should treat the orphan in the same way we treat our own children.
Col. (r ) Mubashir Iqbal threw light on the aims and objectives of Aghosh Orphan Care Home. He said that Aghosh was established in 2005 for the children orphaned in the wake of the massive earthquake in Azad Kashmir and other parts of the country. He said that hundreds of children have completed their education from Aghosh and are contributing to the development of society today.
Col. (r ) Mubashir Iqbal said that the best residential, educational and recreational facilities are provided to the resident children at Aghosh. He said that orphan children from all parts of the country, particularly Azad Kashmir, Balochistan and Sindh.
Children living at Aghosh complex also expressed their views on the occasion and said that they were completely satisfied with the quality of education and facilities being provided to them. They said that Aghosh is their home and they have a mentor and a patron in Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. They said that they are being taken care of in every way, better than what they could get at their homes.
