In the first session of Al-Tarbiyah Day 2, Dr Ghazala Qadri delivered her talk on the importance of a Jama'at. Relating it to yesterday's talk which was about giving dawah, she emphasized on the importance of Jama'at. She began her talk while stating the objectives of Minhaj-ul-Quran and said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri derived the objectives of MQI from the Holy Quran, Surah al-Imran (verse 101/105). She then explained the ways to put the objectives into practice and said that one can do that by strengthening the connection with Allah Almighty, with the love of Holy Prophet (pbuh), by reconnecting with the Holy Quran, and through establishing Deen and harbouring global unity.
She went on to explain the concept of "collectivism" which she referred to as
the fundamental element of Islam and said that
Almighty Allah loves collectivism so much that even in every prayer we are to say
“O' Allah you alone do we worship and to you we look for help." Even though salah
is the most private act of worship, even then we ask Allah Almighty as "we" and
not "I".
When you remember Allah in a Jama'at, Allah remembers you in Jama'at of Angels,
which further signifies collectivism.
Dr. Ghazala explained the unseen attacks of worldly temptations, the Dunya and explained it through the example of Social Media and its impact on our lives. She said that when we are getting attacked collectively, then we should defend ourselves collectively to be able to protect against it.
She also explained the four commandments of Allah Almighty in Surah al-Imran. First is to form a Jama'at, the second commandment is for Dawah Illal Kahyr, the to call for good deeds (Amr bil ma'arof) and lastly to forbid evil (Nahee 'anil munkar). She clarified the misunderstanding that only doing the work of dawah is not enough and rectified the concept by saying that the effective way is to work against what is wrong and to practically take action against the evil. However if someone is not able to do so, then he must try to condemn verbally. And if even that is not possible, then he must hate the evil deed in the heart at least.
While stating the importance of Jama'at she said that when a person is alone that is when the shaytan attacks, because he have no company. Therefore, Allah has commanded us to work collectivity in Jama'at (organization) as it provides guidance and direction through the leader. A leader must be considered one who is a possessor of the knowledge of the Quran and deen. The leader should be source of inspiration as we will be raised with our leaders on the day of judgment. That's why it's important to make sure because those we choose as leaders and follow in our daily lives would be our source to enter Jannah on the day of Resurrection.
Shaykh-ul-Islam is a beacon of peace, togetherness, unity and an epitome of good values and knowledge in the present times. Through the platform of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shaykh-ul-Islam has given us a dynamic platform to serve the Deen in line with the modern day trends and needs.
Towards the end she advised the sisters doing dawah work to practice what they are preaching because "your dawah and personal life should be connected"", she said. She also advised the teams to add different people in teams because it adds diversity and creativity in working.
