Mali, and Ghullam Murtaza Alvi.
The keynote speaker of the event was President MQI, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. Shakeel Ahmad Tahir, acting Director Foreign Affairs, conducted the proceedings of the training workshop.
President MQI, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri threw light on the philosophy of resistance. He said that every living being faces resistance in the life cycle, adding that it is particularly true in case of the workers of MQI. He said that in the battle between good and evil, resistance is bound to happen as it is law of the nature. He said that resistance can be turned into a positive energy for betterment, growth and development of personality. He also warned that resistance is also capable of discouraging people, sowing the seeds of doubt and confusion in their minds.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that focus is a virtue that gives people a sense of direction. He said that in times of social media, focus has become a rarity. He said that the obsession with the digital tools round the clock has deprived us of the ability to focus on our goals. He made it clear that without focus, we cannot achieve our organizational targets.
President MQI said that we need to ponder that when we deal with our worldly life, we normally have a lot more focus than what we have when we deal with the cause of Allah SWT (i.e. the mission). This thought should worry us, he added. He further said that some researchers on the issue of focus say that if you focus deeply enough, a passing thought can become a philosophy.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri emphasized the mission statement; unity of mission and personal vision as part of the organizational struggle. He said that the MQI’s message of pace, interfaith dialogue and harmony should be the target of our efforts. The aim and vision of MQI should always be set above our personal pursuits, and our personal aims should reflect that vision. He said when personal vision and vision of MQI differ, one becomes demotivated, and the ultimate objective is not reached.
President MQI said that there is no shortcut to success. He said that patience is the key to achieving long-term goals. He said that one should keep working hard but then have faith in Allah Almighty to deliver the results. He said that our span of attention has become due to our obsession with social media. He said that Allah Almighty is always with those who exercise patience. He said that we should learn from the Quran that success requires time, steadfastness and evolution, hence real success requires patience. He said that this can easily be applied to our professional and private life as well.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that being a revivalist organization working for the cause of Islam, we have huge aims and objective, that we call reforms – that aim is the ultimate success for the Muslim community. He said that success is not in our hands and Allah SWT may reveal it whenever He wants. What He (SWT) requires from us is to struggle for that success – that is the real success for a Muslim individual and worker. This is also called the virtue of being steadfast. He said that the service in the way of religion demands sacrifice of your personal, family and spare time.
President MQI further said that the service of the religion is considered a nafl-ibadah, and Allah has promised the one who does nafl-ibadah His proximity, adding that Gods’ proximity is the ultimate reward for a Muslim.
Dr Hussain said that in our personal and professional life, we should always be target-oriented. He said that we should take our targets seriously and make maximum effort to achieve them. He said that they are the road towards success, and success can only be achieved when we fulfill our promise of working hard.
