Addressing the concluding ceremony of a 25-day long Islamic training course held under the banner of College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that creating self-confidence in the students and making them useful citizens is the responsibility of teachers. He said that making education compatible with the requirements of the 21st century is the dire need of the hour. He asked the students to step forward and help the suffering humanity during the ongoing catastrophe of floods in the country. He said that the individuals become a nation at the time of crisis, adding that we face such challenges of epic proportions before us. He congratulated the management of COSIS for arranging the training course.
COSIS principal Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi said that traveling far and wide for the acquisition of knowledge has been the practice of our forefathers. He congratulated Muhammad Pervez Bilal, coordinator of the training course, teachers and students for the successful conduct of the course.
The message of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was also read out in the ceremony. In his message, Dr Qadri congratulated the Principal, teachers and the students of COSIS for successfully holding the course. He said that education is our real asset and our life remains incomplete without education. He said that knowledge is such a wealth that does not allow any undermining of our prestige and respect. He said that COSIS is a place both for learning and moral training and the emphasis is on making students useful members of the society so that they can contribute their bit to the development of the country.
Dr Akram Rana, Dr Shafaqat Baghdadi, Dr Shabbir Ahmad Jami, Sabir Hussain Naqashbandi, Muhammad Pervez Bilal, the honorable teachers and the students of COSIS attended the ceremony. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur distributed prizes among the position-holders who got first, second and third positions in Qirat, Naat, speech and sports contests.
