An important meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC) of Minhaj-ul-Quran International was held with Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri in the chair. The meeting decided that local chapters should arrange book fairs to promote the culture of book reading.
Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri said that studying books is essential for accessing authentic knowledge, as reliance cannot be placed on research material circulated through social media without critically evaluating it. He said that it is, therefore, necessary to prioritize the study of books as a source of science and arts. In this regard, book fairs will prove to be significant.
Chairman Supreme Council stated that the importance of books has increased more than ever before. Reports on the performance of educational institutions under Minhaj-ul-Quran were also presented in the meeting.
Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, Vice Chancellor of Minhaj University Lahore, Dr. Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Principal of the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, Aftab Ahmad Khan, Principal of Minhaj Women College, Colonel (Retired) Mobasher Iqbal, Director of Aaghosh Orphan Care Home, Shoaib Tahir, Director of Minhaj Education Society, Brigadier (Retired) Omar Hayat, country Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, Muhammad Farooq Rana, Director of Fareed-i-Millat Research Institute, and Abdul Sattar Minhajian, Director of Minhaj Internet Bureau, presented the performance reports.
Brigadier (retired) Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam, Allama Rana Muhammad Idris, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Noorullah Siddiqi, Allama Mir Asif Akbar, Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, Irfan Yousaf, Sheikh Farhan Aziz, Hafizullah Javed, Mian Abdul Qadir, Arif Chaudhry, Saeed Raza Baghdadi, Allama Ashfaq Chishti, Sardar Omar Daraz, Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, Rana Waheed Shahzad, Sidra Karamat, Umm-e-Habiba Ismail, Rafia Arooj Malik, along with other dignitaries participated in the meeting.
