Khurram Nawaz Gundapur, Secretary General of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that injustice with wheat growers must be stopped. He said that wheat farmers are crying, and there is no one to wipe their tears. He said that when wheat is with the farmers, it is like soil, but as soon as it reaches the hands of investors and middlemen, it turns into gold. He said that both the wheat farmer and the common man who consumes it are suffering.
The PAT Secretary General said that it is being reported that the mafia has imported wheat from outside upon the arrival of the new crop, and now local wheat is being purchased through deceitful means. This needs to be investigated, he demanded.
He questioned why assemblies are not discussing the injustices against farmers? The mafia and ruling class, he said, want wheat to be imported just like petrol, so they can continue to profit. He said the Chief Justice should take notice of the injustices against farmers, and the government should be asked why farmers are not getting fair prices.
