Saeed Iqbal Qadri, General Secretary of MQI Switzerland, was laid to rest yesterday. A large number of members, relatives, and personalities from various schools of thought attended his funeral prayer.
The founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, expressed his heartfelt condolences on Saeed Iqbal Qadri's passing and prayed for his forgiveness and elevated status. He praised Saeed Iqbal Qadri's services to MQI and the promotion of the Islamic message of peace, interfaith harmony and tolerance. He prayed to Allah to make these services a provision for his afterlife.
The funeral prayer was attended by Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, Muhammad Tayyab, Hafiz Awan, Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, Ghulam Ali Khan, Annab Khan Gondal, Allama Ishtiaq Alvi, Allama Zil-e-Hasnain, Asif Mirza, Arshad Mahmood, Furqan Yousuf, Usman Irshad, Riaz Qadri, Suhail Abbasi, and Chaudhry Naseeruddin.
The prayer was led by Allama Ishtiaq Alvi, a scholar from Minhaj University Lahore. The late Saeed Iqbal Qadri was a long-time companion of Minhaj-ul-Quran and a trusted associate and right-hand man of Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He was also the founding president of Minhaj Youth League Rawalpindi.
On the death of Saeed Iqbal Qadri, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Brigadier (R) Iqbal Ahmed Khan, GM Malik, Noorullah Siddiqui, Rana Muhammad Idrees, Engineer Muhammad Rafiq Najam, Jawad Hamid, Chaudhry Irfan Yousuf, Sardar Shakir Khan Mazari expressed their condolences and prayed for the elevation of his ranks, asking Allah to grant the bereaved family the strength and courage to bear this loss.
