Prayer Ceremony Held at Aghosh Complex and Tahfiz-ul-Quran for the Martyrs of the 2005 Earthquake

Prayer ceremony for martyrs of the 2005 earthquake in Agosh

A prayer ceremony was held for the martyrs of the 2005 earthquake, featuring Quran recitation and supplication for forgiveness, with participation from students and teachers.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of Aghosh Complex, Col. (R) Mubashar Iqbal, Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi, Imran Zafar Butt, and other dignitaries.

Under the auspices of Minhaj-ul-Quran's subsidiary institutions, Aghosh Orphan Care Home and Tahfiz-ul-Quran, a Quran recitation and prayer ceremony was organized in memory of the martyrs of the October 8, 2005, earthquake. Director of Aghosh Complex, Col. (R) Mubashar Iqbal, Principal of Tahfiz-ul-Quran Institute, Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi, and Principal of Aghosh Grammar High School, Imran Zafar Butt, along with a large number of teachers and students, attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, Col. (R) Mubashar Iqbal said that the painful memories of October 8, 2005, can never be forgotten. He prayed for Allah's protection of Pakistan and its people from such calamities. He was speaking at the prayer ceremony organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran in Model Town to honor the martyrs of the 2005 earthquake. Minhaj-ul-Quran Women's League and Minhaj Welfare Foundation also arranged prayer ceremonies at Aghosh, an institution for orphans and destitute children, where Quran recitation was performed, and candles were lit to remember the loved ones.

He added that Minhaj-ul-Quran workers and officials were blessed by Allah to be the first to reach the affected areas in 2005. They set up medical camps, ensured food supplies, and participated in rebuilding homes destroyed by the earthquake. Under the guidance of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Minhaj Welfare Foundation not only engaged in relief activities but also implemented long-term planning for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims.

Minhaj-ul-Quran brought hundreds of affected children to Aghosh Orphan Home, where all their educational and training needs were fulfilled. Many of these children have now completed their education and have entered professional life with dignity. Today, Aghosh has become an exemplary institution of human service, with branches established in Karachi, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and other cities of the country. Under Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's direction, Aghosh Orphan Homes were built after the 2005 earthquake, complete with modern English medium schools along with residential facilities.

Principal of Tahfiz-ul-Quran, Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi, led the prayers for the martyrs and also prayed for the safety and prosperity of the country.
