President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, delivered a grand Friday sermon at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam, Model Town, in which he said that being grateful to Allah in all circumstances is a sign of one's love for Allah. He said that the love of Allah is the greatest blessing in the human realm. Allah increases His blessings for those who are grateful; therefore, we must remove ingratitude from our lives. He asked the believers to embrace piety and contentment, and Allah will increase His favors upon them. Just as Allah loves His creation, His creation should also love Him in return.
Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri explained that the foundation of the relationship between Allah and His servant lies in complete submission. Submitting to Allah means abandoning what He has forbidden and faithfully carrying out what He has commanded, regardless of the circumstances.
Dr. Hussain Qadri said that Allah's love is attained through practicing ten things:
- Performing abundant Nawafil (supererogatory prayers)
- Developing a love for the Qur’an
- Showing patience over Divine commands
- Willingly accepting and following Divine laws
- Wishing well for others
- Preferring Allah’s commands over one’s personal desires
- Being content with Allah’s will
- Cultivating modesty in one’s character
- Bearing hardships and striving in the love of Allah
- Being content with little — satisfaction even with a small provision
He emphasized that the emotion of love should also be expressed towards one’s family, relatives, friends, and those under one's influence. Love for Allah’s creation is, in fact, a reflection of love for Allah.
Dr. Qadri concluded by saying that in the race for material success, failures often lead to bitterness in a person’s temperament, which negatively affects others. Therefore, being content with Allah’s will in every situation is considered a praiseworthy and noble act.
