A heartfelt Quran Khawani was held today in memory of Muhtaram Engineer Muhammad Tariq Fareed Qadri sb (R.A), the beloved younger brother of His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam. The spiritually uplifting gathering took place at MQI Manchester, with remote participation from centres across the UK.
In his address, His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri reflected deeply on the reality of death. He explained that death does not signify an end, rather it marks a transition from one state to another — hence the term inteqaal. The pain and emotion we feel are for those of us who remain. The deceased, though unable to speak, are aware of our weeping and would console us if they could.
His Eminence shared that even death will one day perish, and thereafter begins khulood, the state of everlasting existence. Quoting the Quran, he reminded that martyrs are not to be called dead. They are alive and are provided for by their Lord. The awliya too are among the martyrs. A martyr offers his life in a moment, whereas a wali devotes his entire life to Allah.
Through a live video link, attendees joined from MQI centres in London, Nelson, Walsall, Bradford, Birmingham, Glasgow and Dundee, uniting in reflection and remembrance.
Among the attendees were senior leadership of MQI UK, esteemed scholars, members and affiliates, as well as MPs, local politicians, and respected community leaders, all paying tribute and offering prayers.
This profound gathering offered solace, spiritual clarity, and a powerful reminder of faith in the eternal journey beyond this world.
