On Sunday, Manchester hosted the second day of an impactful series of strategic engagements with His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam, led by Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari (President, MQI UK). Following the previous day’s Executive Council meeting, this forum focused session brought together national, zonal and forum leadership for a comprehensive review of MQI UK’s work.
Reports were presented by Moazzam Raza (Secretary General, MQI UK), Dr Ali Akbar (General Secretary, Minhaj Scholars Forum), Nasreen Akhtar and Saiqa Shaheen (President and Vice President, Minhaj Women League UK), Ansa Hussain and Fatimah Siddiqui (President and General Secretary, Minhaj Sisters UK), alongside Zonal Coordinators - Humaira Rizwan, Asma Bi and Sundos Anwar. Representing Minhaj Muslim Generations UK were Muhbeen Hussain (President) and Adil Khan (General Secretary).
Also present at the meeting were members of MQI UK’s zonal leadership. From Scotland, Dr Khalid Mehmood (President) and Qaiser Habib (General Secretary) participated in the discussions. The North Zone was represented by Seerat Ali Khan (President) and Ahsan Khan (General Secretary), while the Midlands Zone was represented by Abu Adam Ahmed al-Shiraazi (President) and Ghulam Murtaza (General Secretary). From the South Zone, Shahid Iqbal (President) was in attendance. It was also an honour to welcome Zille Hassan (President, MQI Spain), who joined the session and added valuable international perspective to the discussions.
The session welcomed heads of special projects, including Allama Muhammad Afzal Saeedi (Director, Madinat Al-Zahra) and Ahmed Nawaz (Minhaj Dawah Project). Minhaj Women League UK received further representation from its Zonal Presidents - Baji Jannat Ilahi (North), Baji Noshaza Hussain (Midlands) and Baji Dr Saeeda Soomro (South). Minhaj Muslim Generations was further supported by Harris Khan (Coordinator, North) and Muhammad Faizan Tahir (Coordinator, Midlands), reflecting a strong and growing presence of youth leadership within the organisation. Minhaj Welfare Foundation was represented by Adnan Sohail (Operations Director), who expressed his delight at the collaborative spirit and dedication shown by all forums for the collective success of Minhaj Welfare initiatives.
Following the Saturday Executive Council meeting, representations from local MQI Centres also joined the Sunday session, including Vakas Hussain (General Secretary, MQI Greater London), Ahmed Nawaz (President, MQI Manchester) and Zikrullah Virk (Vice President, MQI Manchester), further enriching the day with local insights and participation.
His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam attentively listened to the forum updates and reviewed the progress of MQI UK in detail. He congratulated all on their steadfast commitment and growing impact, offering invaluable guidance and encouragement. Drawing on personal reflections from the early days and global development of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, he inspired attendees with powerful insights and practical advice.
His Eminence also appreciated the initiative of Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari in organising the two-day leadership meetings and concluded by praying for the continued success, unity and elevation of MQI UK.
