Righteous Deeds Bring Blessings in Sustenance, Increase in Knowledge
and Honor – Chairman Supreme Council
Success Lies in Obedience to Allah – Address by Chairman Supreme Council at a Thoughtful
Session
Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, while speaking at an intellectual session, stated that sins reduce both sustenance and lifespan. On the other hand, righteous deeds lead to abundance in sustenance, increase in knowledge and honor, and bring peace of heart. He said that Allah Almighty opens the doors of mercy and blessings upon His obedient servants. Those who constantly live in ingratitude and sin are deprived of sustenance and the blessings of both this world and the Hereafter.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Supreme Council referred to a hadith narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA), in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said (meaning): "If the servants of Allah live their lives in obedience, Allah will send rain for them at night, bring out the sun during the day, and protect them from the strike of thunder." Dr. Hassan explained that this hadith shows Allah’s deep concern for His creation – He sends the blessing of rain so that people may go out in search of sustenance and their crops may thrive. Rain is among the many blessings of Allah.
He also cited another hadith narrated by Hazrat Thawban (RA), recorded in Sunan Ibn Majah, in which Allah says: “Obey Me, follow My commands, adopt the lawful and avoid the unlawful, for good deeds increase one’s lifespan, and supplication can repel destiny.”
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri emphasized that sometimes, due to sins, a person is deprived of sustenance, loses memory, and even the gift of knowledge can be taken away. Quoting Imam Shafi’i (RA), he said that if one feels their memory weakening, they should immediately hold themselves accountable and distance themselves from all sins, whether major or minor. "Knowledge is the light of Allah and it cannot be granted to a sinner," Imam Shafi’i once said.
In conclusion, Dr. Hassan urged the audience to live their lives in obedience to Allah, stay away from sins, adopt righteous deeds, and make supplication a regular part of their lives.
