Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri Expresses Grief Over the Passing of Agha Murtaza Poya

Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Agha Murtaza Poya — a well-known political, social, and religious figure and former Central Vice Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek.

Dr. Qadri prayed for the forgiveness, mercy, and elevation of ranks for the deceased, and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying that Allah grants them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Shaykh-ul-Islam stated that Agha Murtaza Poya’s contributions to Pakistan Awami Tehreek will always be remembered. His efforts in promoting inter-sectarian harmony and interfaith unity within Pakistani society are truly unforgettable.

Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, and other party leaders also expressed their condolences over Agha Murtaza Poya’s passing. They prayed for the elevation of his ranks and patience for the bereaved family.

The leaders acknowledged Agha Murtaza Poya’s admirable struggle for freedom of expression and democracy in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Agha Murtaza Poya’s funeral prayer was held in Islamabad. Central and provincial leaders and workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Minhaj-ul-Quran participated in the funeral and conveyed Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s condolence message to the deceased’s son and other mourners.
