Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) Is a Grave Agony for the Holy Prophet (PBUH): Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) is not merely the killing of a human soul, but a deeply painful and grave incident that inflicted agony upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Prophet (PBUH) had immense love for Hasan and Husayn (RA).

Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) Is a Grave Agony for the Holy Prophet (PBUH): Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Sayyida Fatimah al-Zahra (RA) once narrated that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) came home and, not finding Hassan and Husayn (RA), became concerned and inquired, “Where are my sons?” Sayyida Fatimah (RA) responded that Ali (RA) had taken them outside. Hearing this, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) set out in search and found the blessed grandsons playing near a stream. Upon seeing them, he said, “O Ali, take care to bring my sons home quickly so that the sun’s heat may not touch their bodies.”

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri emphasized: now imagine, the very Hussain (RA), whose body the Holy Prophet (PBUH) couldn’t bear to see exposed to the sun, was martyred in the burning plains of Karbala, enduring extreme hunger and thirst. The caravan of truth was subjected to humiliation in the court of Yazid. Just imagine the anguish and torment the Holy Prophet (PBUH) must have felt witnessing the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA).

He further stated that those who doubt or question whether the killers of Imam Hussain (RA) and the noble companions were truly guilty are engaging in sheer misfortune. Such thoughts make one equally complicit in causing pain to Allah and His Messenger (PBUH).

Dr. Qadri concluded that reflecting on the events of Karbala is not only a lesson in steadfastness but also a test of one’s faith and loyalty to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his beloved family.
