On the occasion of Ashura, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the Founder and Chief Patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran, in his special message, stated that Karbala is not just a battle, but the eternal call of truth that challenges Yazid of every era.
"The martyrdom of Sayyiduna Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) has granted humanity two distinct characters: one based on oppression and barbarity, and the other as the standard-bearer of loyalty and truth," Shaykh-ul-Islam said.
He said that the sacrifice given by Sayyiduna Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) for the sake of the true religion is a beacon of truth that stands as a powerful argument against every falsehood.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further said, "The Day of Ashura, in which Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his devoted companions rendered the sacrifice of their esteemed lives on the path of truth, has inscribed a chapter of perseverance and selflessness that remains a source of courage for the oppressed and a challenge to the oppressors for all time. Karbala is not just a battle; it is the eternal symbol of honor, dignity, and self-respect. The timeless sacrifice made by Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) and his companions for the exaltation of Islam sends us the message that perseverance, gratitude, and steadfastness on the path of truth are the real guarantees of success."
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, stated that the Day of Ashura is the highest example of truth, freedom, and selflessness in the history of humanity. He said that on the burning sands of Karbala, Sayyiduna Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) and his companions, with their blood, lit the lamp of faith that will continue to guide the seekers of truth for eternity. He said that this day reminds us that no matter how high the price, one should never bow to falsehood. The message of Karbala is that even in the darkness of oppression, igniting the flame of truth is the way of the faithful.
The President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, said that in the battlefield of Karbala, the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Sayyiduna Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam), with his great sacrifice, shook the very foundations of falsehood and set an example of justice and freedom that will be a guiding light for the oppressed until the Day of Judgment. He said that this day is the symbol of the voice of truth, which teaches that the people of truth may offer their lives, but they will never bow down before oppression and tyranny. The message of Ashura is that even if the path of truth is filled with thorns, the people of determination continue steadfast on it, he added.
