Those Who Love Ahl al-Bayt Will Never Be Misguided: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri

Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has stated that those who maintain a firm and heartfelt connection with the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (the family of the Prophet ﷺ) will never deviate from the Straight Path, nor will the accursed Satan be able to mislead them.

He emphasized that this is not a promise made by any ordinary person, but a divine guarantee given by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself. The Prophet ﷺ said, “O people! I am leaving behind two things among you; as long as you hold fast to them, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bayt.” He instructed the believers to remain connected to both.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri highlighted another saying of the Prophet ﷺ, which states that those who love and honor the Ahl al-Bayt will be blessed with a long, fruitful life full of goodness and blessings. Conversely, he warned that those who do not treat the Prophet’s family with kindness will have a life devoid of blessings and will meet the Prophet (PBUH) on the Day of Judgment with darkened faces.

Shaykh-ul-Islam further explained that the Holy Prophet ﷺ never sought anything from the Ummah for himself—except for their reverence and good conduct toward his family after him. The Holy Prophet ﷺ filled the Ummah’s hands with pearls of guidance and blessings, prayed long prostrations for their forgiveness, and made heartfelt supplications to Allah on their behalf. Yet, in return, he asked the Ummah only one thing: “After me, take care of the Qur’an and my Ahl al-Bayt, and I remind you by Allah to be mindful of this.”

He referred to an inspiring narration recorded by Imam Tabarani (رحمہ اللہ), in which the Holy Prophet ﷺ said: “Follow the Qur’an and my Ahl al-Bayt; do not go ahead of them, or you will be destroyed. Do not try to teach them, for they know more than you.”

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri warned that those who, under the influence of ego and inner desires, attempt to show leniency toward the cursed Yazid or downplay the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt must not ignore these clear and powerful sayings of the Prophet ﷺ. He cautioned against crossing limits, reminding that they may face the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgment with darkened faces if they fail in their duty toward his family.
