In light of the recent heavy rains and floods that have caused an emergency situation in various parts of the country, Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) has immediately launched relief activities. Volunteers of Minhaj Welfare Foundation have been deployed in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, and other affected cities to assist the victims. These activities have started in different phases to provide immediate relief.
During an emergency meeting, the Director of Operations at Minhaj Welfare Foundation, Engineer Sanaullah Khan, stated that in the first phase of the relief efforts, freshly cooked meals are being distributed daily in the affected areas to ensure that families who have lost their homes or do not have access to food are not left suffering from hunger or malnutrition. He mentioned that food preparation is being carried out using field kitchens and mobile kitchen units. Volunteers have been instructed to pay special attention to the nutritional needs of children, women, and the elderly.
Engineer Sanaullah Khan also said that, following the guidance of Sheikh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Phase 2 will focus on providing dry rations, tarpaulins, clothing, and first aid to the affected individuals. Temporary shelter camps will be set up, and cleanliness measures will be undertaken. Minhaj Welfare Foundation's survey teams are gathering data on the victims.
In Phase 3, the foundation will focus on the rehabilitation of affected families, including the repair of homes and the restoration of children's education. He emphasized that this is a time of trial, and Minhaj Welfare Foundation will not leave its affected countrymen alone.
Engineer Sanaullah Khan further stated that the emergency response network of Minhaj Welfare Foundation has been activated, and volunteers are present with all necessary resources to deliver immediate aid to the affected families. He also mentioned that the foundation is closely monitoring the potential flood situation across the country and will provide immediate assistance wherever needed. He concluded by saying that Minhaj Welfare Foundation is committed to its mission of serving humanity.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Directors Iftikhar Hanif Mughal, Mansoor Qasim Awan, Rana Faisal Mehmood, Shafqat Nadeem, and other officials.
