Under the auspices of the Minhajians Forum of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, a book launch ceremony was held to unveil four new books authored by the founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
The newly released books include:
- “Al-Qawl al-Mateen fi Amr Yazeed al-La’een”
- “Taghayyur-e-Zaman se Ijtihadi Ahkam mein Riayat wa Tabdeeli” (Consideration and Change in Juristic Rulings with Changing Times)
- “Wirasat wa Wasiyyat” (Inheritance and Bequest)
- “Nikah wa Talaaq” (Marriage and Divorce)
The welcome address was delivered by Shahid Latif, Director of Resources and Development. In his speech, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran, said:
Nations that close the doors to research are destined to decline.
He added that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and the leadership of Minhaj-ul-Quran have the distinction of providing guidance on the challenges of contemporary life through the lens of the Qur’an and Sunnah. These books are a valuable asset for the Muslim Ummah.
Speakers included Dr. Muhammad Farooq Rana (Director of the Farid-e-Millat Research Institute), Dr. Naeem Anwar Naumani, Dr. Muhammad Sarwar Naqshbandi, Dr. Muhammad Afzal Qadri, and Sajid Mahmood Al-Azhari, who presented scholarly papers on Dr. Qadri’s works.
Dr. Farooq Rana described “Al-Qawl al-Mateen fi Amr Yazeed al-La’een” as an Islamic encyclopedia on the subject of cursing Yazeed. He said the book presents detailed, referenced discussions proving Yazeed’s disbelief and immorality. Regarding the doctrine of Ahl-e-Bayt, this book is a credible source that removes all confusion surrounding Yazeed. By writing it, Dr. Qadri has fulfilled a historical obligation.
Dr. Muhammad Afzal Qadri spoke on the book “Taghayyur-e-Zaman se Ijtihadi Ahkam mein Riayat wa Tabdeeli”. He argued that blind imitation opens the door to confusion, and fatwas must always be open to critical evaluation. Dr. Qadri, with broad vision, has conveyed to students of jurisprudence that no fatwa can ever replace the Qur’an and Sunnah. As time, conditions, and circumstances change, the verses of the Qur’an and sayings of the Prophet ﷺ remain eternally relevant for guidance. Closing the door of ijtihad (independent reasoning) is not in line with the spirit of Islam, and Dr. Qadri has made a profound scholarly contribution on this subject.
Professor Dr. Sarwar Siddiq presented an overview of the book “Wirasat wa Wasiyyat”, calling it a timely gift in the modern era. He emphasized that giving daughters their rightful share in inheritance is obligatory, and denying it is against Islamic law. Dr. Qadri has clearly explained the true essence of inheritance rights in light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. He recommended that this book be included in the curriculum of Dars-e-Nizami (traditional Islamic studies programs), and said it is essential reading for lawyers, teachers, and parents.
Religious scholar Khalid Mahmood delivered a paper on the book “Nikah wa Talaaq”, stating that both parents and married couples should study this work to avoid the misunderstandings that often weaken relationships.
