Allama Rana Muhammad Idris, the Deputy Naib Nazim A'la of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, addressed the grand congregation at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam in Model Town, Lahore, on Friday, saying that serving humanity and promoting public welfare are essential components of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He emphasized that the best way to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and express love and devotion to Him is to assist the flood victims and serve the suffering humanity.

Due to the sudden calamity of the flood, thousands of families have become homeless, losing their belongings to the floodwaters. Some families have even lost their daughters' dowries and essential household items to the deluge. All individuals of means are duty-bound, from a humanitarian perspective, to help these victims and express gratitude that Allah has protected them from this disaster.

He said that there are many ways to offer assistance. Those who have been displaced should be accommodated like family members until they can return to their homes, and they should be made to feel that, as Muslims and Pakistanis, they are not alone. He also urged doctors and medical staff to fulfill their duty by providing service at the affected locations. Helping those in distress is the true essence of Islam, he stated.

Allama Rana Idris further explained that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has set an example by announcing that the funds that would have been spent on administrative costs for the global Mawlid conference at Minar-e-Pakistan will instead be donated to the flood victims. This sends the message that, at this moment, suffering humanity deserves our utmost attention. He added that those who cannot directly help the flood victims can fulfill their duty through trusted organizations like Minhaj Welfare.
