To understand the essence of Sufism, one must understand the morals and character of the friends of Allah: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
The founder and chief patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran Movement, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, while addressing the Sayyidna Ghous-ul-Azam Conference, stated that Sayyidna Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) held a higher rank in asceticism and piety. To understand the reality of Sufism, one must observe and comprehend the character and morals of the saints of Allah. He emphasized that Sufism has many dimensions, and the first pillar of Sufism is intense love for Allah.
He said that the first sign of this love is that the person forgets everything except the beloved; their heart is emptied of all thoughts except the beloved, and true love burns and obliterates everything except the beloved. In other words, only the Beloved remains. The Holy Qur'an explains this point in such a way that "The believers are those who become intensely in love with Allah." This intense love for Allah is the essence of Sufism and the bliss of monotheism. The reality of Tawhid is Sufism, while scholars explain Tawhid, the Sufis live it.
During the Sayyidna Ghous-ul-Azam Conference, organized by the Buzm-e-Ghousiya in Canada, Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa al-Arabi, Hashim Ali Qadri, Haji Abdul Ghafoor, Ali Ahmad Khan, Abdul Wathiq, along with a large number of scholars, saints, and youth were present.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further stated that Sayyidna Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) delivered the message of the practical implementation of the Qur'an and Sunnah to the Ummah. Through his character, knowledge, and spirituality, he conveyed the true spirit of religion to the world. The message of Sayyidna Ghous-ul-Azam is centered on sincerity, service to humanity, and peace and love. He said that the life of Hazrat Ghous-ul-Azam contains the complete path of guidance and growth for the Ummah. Through knowledge, piety, and justice, he laid the foundation for societal reform.
