COSIS Intellectual session on social media and Islamic invitation 2025

An important intellectual and educational session was organized at the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences under the auspices of the Directorate of Resources and Development, Minhaj-ul-Quran. Distinguished scholars, Director of Resources and Development Muhammad Shahid Latif and Nazim Examinations of the Pakistan Madaris System, Allama Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi, addressed the students on two different topics. The first lecture was on "Social Media and Students," while the second focused on "Inviting to Islam in the Modern Era and the Role of Students." The event was attended by teachers, students, and various intellectual and social personalities.

In the first session, Muhammad Shahid Latif spoke about the power of social media as a communication tool in the present era. He highlighted that while social media offers instant access to information, its misuse can have a negative impact on time, ethics, and character. He urged students to use social media for educational and research purposes, avoiding pointless debates and negative content. He emphasized that a conscious student is one who utilizes technology for mental and moral growth.

In the second session, distinguished scholar Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi spoke on the topic of "Inviting to Islam in the Modern Era and the Role of Students." He stated that students are the backbone of any society. If they remain connected to the teachings and training of Islam, the society can become a place of peace, tolerance, and morality. He remarked that in today’s scientific and digital age, the methods of Dawah (invitation to Islam) have changed, with social media, education, and practical conduct being the effective tools. Students should spread the message of Islam through their behavior, speech, and ethics. He advised students to dedicate their knowledge to the service of humanity and the betterment of society.

After the lectures, a question-and-answer session took place, where students asked various questions to both speakers. The speakers praised the enthusiasm of the students and emphasized that if young people move forward with positive thinking and actions, society can become stronger both intellectually and morally.
