Youth Must Become Iqbal’s Shaheens to Change the Nation’s Destiny — Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Iqbal’s message guarantees education, character, and national morality” — Chairman MQI Supreme Council,
“Pakistan’s ideological existence is rooted in Iqbal’s thought,” says Prof. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri in his message on Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary

Chairman of the Supreme Council, Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, in his message on the birth anniversary of Hakim al-Ummah Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (RA), said that the Poet of the East’s philosophy and thought have been a fountainhead of awakening, selfhood (khudi), and spiritual revival for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

He said that the spirit of awareness, courage, and high resolve that Allama Iqbal infused in the youth needs to be revived once again in our time.

Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri stated that the essence of Iqbal’s philosophy is “Khudi” (selfhood) — the force that elevates a person from weakness to strength, from servitude to responsibility, and toward service to humanity.

He said that Iqbal wanted Muslims to recognize their spiritual power and moral dignity and to become the standard-bearers of goodness and justice in the world. “Pakistan’s ideological foundation is intrinsically linked with Iqbal’s thought,” he emphasized. “Today, we must not confine Iqbal’s message to ceremonial events; rather, we should integrate it into our education system, character-building, national mindset, and moral fabric.”

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Allama Iqbal’s thought is deeply inspired by the Qur’an, the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and the spiritual wisdom of Maulana Rumi. “Iqbal was not merely a poet; he was a visionary thinker, a compassionate reformer, and the true spokesman of the Muslim Ummah,” he added.

He further stated that Iqbal’s message is one of knowledge and insight, action and sacrifice, and love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ. “He liberated enslaved minds through the power of selfhood and awakened the spirit of intellectual freedom in the youth of the Muslim world,” he remarked.

Prof. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that until Muslims rediscover their spiritual self and faith-based dignity, neither their individual destiny nor the collective fate of the nation can change.

He noted that in the modern era, Imam Ghazali (RA), Ibn Arabi (RA), Maulana Rumi (RA), and Allama Iqbal (RA) are among the four most researched personalities in the Muslim intellectual world. Iqbal’s philosophy, he said, teaches that the salvation and progress of the Ummah lie only in adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah and in the revival of selfhood.

He added that at a time when the Muslim world is facing intellectual confusion, sectarianism, and moral decline, Iqbal’s thought remains a beacon of hope. “If today’s youth model their character and actions on Iqbal’s ideals, Pakistan can truly become the Islamic welfare state that Iqbal envisioned,” he stated.

Concluding his message, Prof. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Allama Iqbal’s spiritual insight continues to call us to action — to restore our lost glory through the harmony of knowledge, faith, and character.
