Dr. Hussain Addresses the 16th Farid Millat Scholarship Award Ceremony organized by Minhaj Education Society

Addressing the 16th Farid Millat Scholarship Award distribution ceremony organized by Minhaj Education Society (MES), President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Chairman of Minhaj Education Society, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohiuddin Qadri stated, "Nations are made and destroyed by the role of teachers. The primary cause of moral decay is a curriculum without purpose and teachers lacking proper training."
The ceremony was attended by students from over 50 schools, with 200 students being awarded the Farid Millat Scholarship, and outstanding teachers were honored with special shields. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohiuddin Qadri announced that Minhaj Education Society would launch an internationally recognized teacher training program, emphasizing that without great teachers, a great nation cannot be built.
He further remarked, "The biggest crisis in the education sector is not the lack of buildings, teachers, or resources; the real issue is educating students without a sense of purpose." While many are concerned about the 25 million children not attending school, my concern is with the millions of children who are in schools. What are they actually learning?
"When we observe society, lawlessness and disregard for the law are at their peak. Immoral behavior and crimes are escalating, incidents of disrespect towards parents and teachers are widespread. The root cause of all this destruction is a curriculum without purpose and teachers who lack proper training," he said.
Prof. Dr. Hussain Qadri added, "A disrespectful student is the product of an unappreciated teacher. Teachers build and destroy nations. We need curricula and teaching methods that cultivate wisdom and reflection. In developed countries, becoming a teacher is the hardest job, whereas here, anyone who cannot find another job ends up as a teacher. For the reconstruction of the country and the formation of a nation based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), it is essential to invest in making teachers capable."
Dr. Qadri emphasized the importance of what is being taught in classrooms, stating, "The state should not remain indifferent to this crucial question. A teacher who scolds and reprimands students is not a true teacher but a mentally and psychologically troubled individual. A teacher's personality and character play a pivotal role in shaping students’ education and moral development. Educational institutions have turned into degree-producing factories. Educational policies are failing because they lack a sense of purpose. The purpose of education should be to build a law-abiding, ethically grounded society, not just to secure employment."
Professor Dr. Tariq Mahmood Chaudhry, Managing Director of Minhaj Education Society, said, "Teachers should inspire students to look forward to going to school. The day our children become excited when school ends and happy when it starts, we will become a united and progressive nation."
Dr. Ali Waqar, Director of Services, and Shoaib Tahir, Director of Operations, gave a special briefing on Minhaj Education Society’s work during the ceremony. Special guests included Malik Irfan Qasim, Controller of the Punjab Board of Technical Education, and prominent YouTuber Aun Ali Khoso.
Other key figures from Minhaj-ul-Quran, such as Dr. Mir Asif Akbar, Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, Noorullah Siddiqi, Shahzad Rasul, Sohail Raza, and others, were also present at the event.
