President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Muhyiddin Qadri, stated that the unanimously agreed belief of the majority of Ahl-e-Sunnah scholars is that the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was granted the Night Journey (Mi‘raj) in a state of full wakefulness, with both body and soul, and that he was blessed with the vision of Allah Almighty.
He said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ is the representative of all humanity, and being granted the Divine Vision is an unparalleled honor that has no equal. The miracle of Mi‘raj occurred both physically and spiritually. For centuries, eminent scholars of the Muslim Ummah have held consensus on this belief, leaving no room for doubt or ambiguity.
He expressed these views while addressing the “Mi‘raj an-Nabi ﷺ Conference” held at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran.
Professor Dr. Hussain Muhyiddin Qadri said that this magnificent event took place in the blessed month of Rajab. The Holy Prophet ﷺ journeyed from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, where he met all the Prophets (peace be upon them). This spiritual gathering was led in prayer by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Thereafter, the Holy Prophet ﷺ was shown the seven heavens, Bayt al-Ma‘mur, Paradise, and Hell. At the station of La-Makan (the realm beyond space), the Holy Prophet ﷺ alone undertook a journey where intimate divine communion occurred—realities beyond the comprehension of the human intellect.
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri stated that on this occasion Allah Almighty bestowed
upon the Muslim Ummah the great gift of prayer (Salah). He added that every Prophet
was granted miracles in accordance with the intellectual level of their respective
eras. However, since the Holy Prophet ﷺ is the final Messenger and his prophethood
is to remain until the Day of Judgment, Allah Almighty granted him universal and
everlasting miracles such as the Holy Qur’an and the Mi‘raj—miracles that no science
or human reason can challenge.
The MQI President emphasized that the greatest practical message of Mi‘raj is prayer.
Prayer is not a mere ritual act of worship; rather, it is a window to meeting Allah
that opens five times a day. The true Mi‘raj of a believer is prayer, wherein a
servant stands alone before his Lord and attains divine closeness.
The conference was attended by Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Chairman of the All Sects Scholars Board Allama Muhammad Asim Makhdum, Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology Dr. Mufti Muhammad Intikhab Noori, Engineer Muhammad Rafiq Najm, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri, Noorullah Siddiqui, Dr. Mir Asif Akbar Qadri, Raja Zahid Mahmood Qadri, along with a large number of scholars from various schools of thought, leaders, women, workers, and members of the public.
