
On the occasion of the 75th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, a spiritually uplifting prayer ceremony titled “Mahfil-e-Husn-e-Qira’at in connection with Shaykh-ul-Islam Day and the استقبالِ ماہِ صیام (Welcoming the Month of Fasting)” was held at the central secretariat of the organization.
The ceremony was specially attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League International Dr. Ghazala Qadri, and Ms. Farah Hussain Qadri. A large number of office-bearers, forum heads, workers, affiliates, and central secretariat staff members also participated.
During the Mahfil-e-Husn-e-Qira’at, Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali Shah, Qari Noor Ahmad Chishti, Qari Zeeshan Hanif Qadri, Qari Syed Khalid Hameed Kazmi, and young Huffaz (memorizers of the Qur’an) from the Tahfeez-ul-Qur’an Institute had the honor of reciting the Holy Qur’an in a deeply moving and melodious manner. Shakeel Ahmad Tahir presented a naat (eulogy) in praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, while scholars from the Education and Professional Development department performed the duties of hosting the event.
On this occasion, Qari Khalid Hameed Kazmi presented an Arabic poetic composition written by Chairman Supreme Council Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri in honor of Shaykh-ul-Islam’s birthday. Dr. Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi then presented its poetic Urdu translation to the audience.
The ceremony was attended by deputy secretaries-general, heads of departments, forum leaders, central staff members, residents of the Durood Corner, and affiliated members and workers from around the world. The event concluded with special prayers for the health and long life of Shaykh-ul-Islam and for the welfare, unity, and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.
