Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-din Qadri addresses Speakers Preparation Course

President MQI Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri delivered an important talk on the 3rd day of Speakers Preparation Course (SPC) organized by MWL/MS Europe in collaboration with Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (Pakistan). The participants of the course joined the session from across Europe and Pakistan.

Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri appreciated this initiative of MWL/MS Europe, which is premised on the idea of training young females to become effective speakers and agents of Dawah. He comprehensively drew a framework for the beginners to develop their speaking abilities.

Dr Hussain highlighted the key features of an effective speaker and said that he must know what the audience expects from him. While keeping in mind, one must remain relevant to the topic to ensure the interest of the listeners. Also, the profile of listeners must be kept in mind while addressing them. A speaker must know and be prepared to elaborate on their point of view without ambiguity and vagueness.

While stating the structure for the speech, Dr. Hussain said that the start of the speech must be attractive and attention seeking so the initial statements must be clearly phrased. The speech must not objectify someone negatively and the speaker must be gentle in her/his expression. It impacts the effectiveness of the message which the speaker aims to convey, he said.

Towards the end, he outlined the "do's and don'ts" for the speaker. He emphasized substantiating the argument with the authenticity of the content. It is important for a speaker to rehearse before delivering his speech, he added. He explicated that non-verbal communication expressions are equally important as verbal means as they leave a great impact on the effectiveness of the speech.

Dr. Hussain's session on the third day of SPC covered the subject for speakers in detail as he shared guidelines for the speakers, content, and structure of speech, do's and don' ts for a speaker, verbal and non-verbal communication expressions and the purpose for delivering the speech.
