President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, addressed the congregation at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam in Model Town during the Friday sermon. He stated that greedy individuals are unaffected by good advice and remain deprived of goodness and virtue.

“Those who live sincerely and for the sake of Allah succeed in both this world and the hereafter. The value of actions is based on intentions, and ostentatious good deeds are futile,” he said.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that sins such as backbiting, gossiping, slander, false accusations, and suspicion deprive a person of faith. These sins, he reminded, not only ruin the hereafter but also distort one's apparent personality. Although these may seem like minor sins, their commission has highly negative impacts on individual and collective life, he maintained.

The MQI President said that the company of righteous people protects one from these sins. He emphasized that friends should avoid gossiping, backbiting, and slander during gatherings.

In his address, he noted that people who seek and speak about others' virtues, and mention them positively in their absence, are protected from many evils. He urged that not only should we avoid backbiting ourselves, but we should also advise others to do the same.
