Religious leaders from different faiths cut the cake to celebrate the birth of
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and prayed for world peace
President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, has emphasized that promoting interfaith harmony and tolerance is crucial for establishing lasting peace in the world. He stated that everyone must work together for the respect and welfare of humanity.
Reflecting on the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he urged the review of the rights of Pakistani brothers and sisters belonging to different religions to ensure tolerance and religious harmony in the country, as envisioned by the Quaid-e-Azam. This, he said, would help create a peaceful and pleasant environment for the people of Pakistan.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these thoughts while addressing the "Milad Banquet" organized under Minhaj-ul-Quran's Interfaith Relations department. Religious leaders and scholars from various faiths and sects attended the event.
In his speech, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri added that the gathering of representatives from various religions in the blessed celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a great message of peace for Pakistan and the world. He said that the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) not only brought a message of equal rights for all humanity but also set a historical precedent for interfaith harmony and tolerance during the Madinah period of his governance. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) established standards for interfaith tolerance and the fulfillment of interreligious rights, which have served as a guiding light for Muslims throughout the 14 centuries, he said.
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri stated that Quaid-e-Azam's political ideology was derived from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Quaid-e-Azam always spoke of shaping Pakistan’s administrative structure based on the principles of the State of Madinah. After the establishment of Pakistan, the Quaid-e-Azam advocated for providing equal rights and opportunities to all religious communities living in the country.
Religious leaders present at the event congratulated on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birth anniversary and expressed that the Prophet (PBUH) is a mercy for all humanity. His teachings contain the principles of respect for humanity and solutions to human problems. They also appreciated the efforts of Director of Interfaith Relations, Sohail Ahmad Raza, and his team for organizing the banquet and inviting representatives from all religions.
In his address, Sohail Ahmad Raza welcomed the religious leaders and participants. Other prominent attendees included Vice-Nazim-e-Aala Noorullah Siddiqi, Qari Khalid Mahmood, Head Granthi Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore Gyani Sardar Ranjit Singh, Dr. Syed Ijaz Gilani, Mufti Ashiq Hussain Shah, Chairman All Sects Ulema Board Makhdoom Muhammad Asim, Right Reverend Emmanuel Khokhar, son of Sardar Sham Singh, Sardar Sikandar Singh, Right Reverend Father Pascal Paulos, Ijaz Alam Augustine, Right Reverend Dr. Majeed Abel, Right Reverend Dr. Father James Channan, Dr. Badar Munir Saifi, Hindu scholar Professor Dr. Sarwar Bhoomanaz, Allama Muhammad Hussain Golra, Dr. Professor Asma, Maimoona Javed Syed, Zara Ahmed, Sufi singer Fareeha, Salman Nasir, Khwaja Habib, Miss Mishtood Tereza Gayer, Ayesha Shabbir Deo, Syed Ghulam Abbas Shirazi, Shehzad Ahmed Khan, Pir Tahir Nazir, Altaf Randhawa, Hafeez Rehman Khan, Aurangzeb Raza Khan, Saqib Bhatti, among other leaders and a large number of participants.
