On April 27, 2025, the Minhaj-ul-Quran Valby Center in Copenhagen became a place filled with deep emotion, profound gratitude, and powerful unity, as over 200 participants gathered to honor the founders of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Denmark. This historic event marked more than 45 years of dedication to the Minhaj Mustafawi mission — a journey built on sacrifice, love, and unwavering commitment to the message of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The event began with a soulful recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Nadeem Akhtar, who also graciously hosted the program. The atmosphere was further uplifted by Muhammad Kashif sb, who performed a beautiful Naat Sharif, filling the room with spiritual warmth and devotion. Muhammad Jamil also contributed to the spiritual ambiance with a heartfelt Naat recitation, further elevating everyone’s spirits.
Prominent leaders such as Sheikh Ashfaaq Sb, the former first president and founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran Denmark, MEC Chairman Bilal Uppal, and NEC Chairman Qaisar Najeeb, along with executive members from various Minhaj forums, graced the gathering with their presence. In his speech, Bilal Uppal extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of Minhaj European Council (MEC) to all the founders. He acknowledged their invaluable contributions in the form of time, resources and tireless effort, emphasizing that their sacrifices are beyond measure.
Qaisar Najeeb sb, in his speech, focused on the urgent need, especially among the youth, to understand the great contributions of our elders. He stressed that the current success of Minhaj-ul-Quran Denmark is the result of the relentless efforts, sacrifices, and vision of the founders. He urged the youth to recognize the sacrifices made by these pioneers and to appreciate how they laid the foundation for the flourishing of Minhaj-ul-Quran. Understanding this history is not only about honoring the past but also about securing the mission’s future.
During the event, senior members were invited to share their experiences, and the stage was opened for some thought-provoking questions. One of the deeply moving questions concerned their first meeting with Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Many shared emotional stories about that first encounter, describing how his presence made a profound impact on their hearts and inspired them to dedicate themselves even more deeply to the Minhaj Mustafawi mission.
Another important question addressed their interactions with Huzoor Shaykh Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani, the spiritual mentor of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Several elders shared touching memories of meeting him, recalling his spiritual guidance and the great wisdom he imparted, which strengthened their commitment to the mission. These personal stories created a deeper connection between the younger generation and the early roots of Minhaj-ul-Quran, highlighting the significance of these visionary figures in shaping the direction of the mission in Denmark.
The highlight of the afternoon was a tribute to the founders — the true pioneers who laid the foundation for Minhaj-ul-Quran in Denmark during the earliest and most challenging days. Senior members were invited to share their experiences, reminiscing about times when resources were scarce but passion was abundant. Their heartfelt words, often delivered with both tears and smiles, reminded everyone that the success we see today is built on unseen sacrifices, endless prayers, and pure intentions.
Their stories were a powerful reminder that when sincerity and love for Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) drive a mission, it becomes invincible. Their sacrifices are not forgotten — they are the roots from which our achievements have grown.
The event concluded with a collective prayer for the global progress of Minhaj, led by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Participants left inspired and motivated to carry the torch forward with renewed dedication, humility, and love.
Founding Members Day 2025 in Denmark was not just a tribute — it was a living reminder that the legacy of devotion and sacrifice continues through every hand and every heart committed to the mission.
We are the continuation of their dream. The mission lives on through us.
