Eid al-Adha 2025 Address by Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri at Jamy Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Melbourne, Australia

On the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha 2025, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri — President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors, Minhaj University Lahore — led the Eid prayer at Jamy Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Melbourne, Australia. The gathering was attended by officials, affiliates of Minhaj-ul-Quran Australia, as well as a large number of community members.

In his impactful Eid sermon, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri eloquently explained the true essence and profound philosophy of sacrifice:

"Qurbani is a revival of the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) — a heartfelt declaration: ‘O Allah! I sacrifice my desires for the sake of Your pleasure.’

It is not merely the slaughter of an animal, but a sacred act of worship that purifies the heart, nurtures Taqwa (God-consciousness), and draws a person closer to Allah (SWT)."

He further emphasized that the core message of Qurbani is to surrender one’s ego, wealth, and desires for the pleasure of Allah. Drawing from the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah.
he added: "Qurbani teaches us compassion, selflessness, and collective good. A sacrifice offered in the love of Allah becomes a means for spiritual elevation."
