Two-Day International Qur’an Recitation Course Concludes at Jamia Al-Minhaj, Lahore

Glasgow: Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri offered the Jummah Prayer at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Islamic Centre

Under the auspices of Minhaj Institute for Qur’anic Recitation and Memorization, the concluding ceremony of the two-day “International Qur’an Recitation Course” was held at Jamia Al-Minhaj, Aghosh Complex, Lahore. Alongside renowned Pakistani Qur’an teachers, internationally acclaimed Qurrā from Iran and Iraq also participated. The guest Qurrā captivated the audience with their melodious recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

The internationally known Qurrā—Shaykh al-Qurrā Qari Hamed Shakir Nejad, Zinat al-Qurrā Saleh Mahdi Zadeh, and Ustadh al-Qurrā Qari Hasnain Jafar Hasan al-Hiloo—provided students with practical training in recitation, tajwīd, and the art of Qur’anic recitation.

The ceremony was attended by Director Interfaith Relations Suhail Ahmad Raza, Director Aghosh Complex Col. (R) Mubashar Iqbal, Principal Minhaj Institute Allama Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi, Vice Principal Qari Syed Khalid Hameed Kazmi, along with teachers and students. Suhail Ahmad Raza expressed gratitude to the international Qurrā and the entire team of Mahfil TV Tehran.

Zinat al-Qurrā Saleh Mahdi Zadeh and Ustadh al-Qurrā Qari Hasnain Jafar Hasan al-Hiloo delighted the participants with their melodious recitation, while Shaykh Hasnain Jafar Hasan al-Hiloo explained the subtleties of Qur’anic recitation in the Ḥijāz maqām and conducted practical exercises.

The event was attended by teachers and students from various schools of thought and boards, with nearly 300 participants including students, Qurrā, and teachers representing over 50 cities and 100 madrasas/boards across the country.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Principal Allama Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi thanked the Qurrā from Iran and stated that the Qur’an Recitation Course serves as a means of promoting the recitation of the Holy Qur’an with melodious voice and tajwīd. He emphasized that such courses are of great importance for connecting the younger generation with the Qur’an.

Vice Principal Qari Syed Khalid Hameed Kazmi said that the recitation of the Qur’an brings peace to the hearts, light to the minds, and unity to society. He added that through this two-day Qur’an recitation course, students have achieved remarkable improvement in reciting the Qur’an with tajwīd, proper articulation, and beautiful intonation.
