Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, in his thought-provoking speech at the Youth Convention organized by the Rehmat-ul-Alameen Authority Pakistan, urged the youth to acquire all types of knowledge but make the study of Seerah-e-Tayyibah (the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH) a regular part of their lives. He stated that the Seerah teaches us to love humanity.
In his speech, he emphasized that there are three aspects of the Prophet’s (PBUH) character that can save us from numerous social and moral ailments: (1) to practice forgiveness, (2) to constantly teach kindness and goodness, and (3) to avoid futile debates with the ignorant. These three qualities are the golden recipe for leading a righteous life. Allah, the Almighty, commanded His beloved Prophet to act upon these three virtues.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that from the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to His passing, all the events and interactions in His life are a part of His Seerah. It is obligatory upon us to gain knowledge about His Seerah and also inspire others to learn and teach it. This act is an act of worship. Understanding the habits and ethics of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is mandatory for every follower of Islam. His Seerah shows us the rights of orphans, widows, halal (permissible) and haram (forbidden) actions, the rights of parents, teachers, relatives, friends, and minorities, and how to demonstrate good character, patience, moderation, and tolerance.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also pointed out that many young people quote Western philosophers, scholars, and writers in their conversations, yet the wisdom and insight of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) can be found in every word of the Qur’an. He encouraged the youth to memorize Hadiths (sayings of the Prophet) and incorporate them into their speech. Love for the Prophet (PBUH) is the essence of Islam and true faith.
The Youth Convention was attended by students from various universities and colleges. During the event, the Chairman of the Rehmat-ul-Alameen Authority, Khurshid Nadeem, welcomed the Chairman of the Supreme Council. The event was also attended by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr. Mir Asif Akbar, Secretary-General of the Minhaj Schools System in Pakistan, Chaudhry Irfan Yusuf, Deputy Secretary-General, Rana Waheed Shehzad, President of Minhaj Youth League, Sheikh Farhan, President of the Mustafavi Students Movement, and others.
