Dr Hassan Qadri addresses Award Disribution Ceremony at COSIS New Campus

In his address at the training session and award distribution ceremony held at the New Campus of the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, emphasized that knowledge has always held a prominent place in Islam and human society. He stated that in the Quran and Sunnah, knowledge is given the same status as light is to darkness. According to Islamic teachings, without knowledge, an individual cannot better their life, nor can a nation achieve progress. Knowledge is the wealth that never runs out and never deprives its heirs.

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further stated that the educational institutions under the guidance of Sheikh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, such as schools, colleges, universities, and the system of Madrasas in Pakistan, are the shining lamps of knowledge. It is a great privilege for every student to benefit from them. He emphasized that knowledge is not attained without sacrifice, hard work, and effort. It requires patience and perseverance.

He quoted the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), saying, "Beautify yourself with knowledge, for the Prophet (PBUH) was the embodiment of knowledge and etiquette." Dr. Qadri added that knowledge is essential not only for worldly progress but also for spiritual success. Knowledge illuminates the heart and mind, helps distinguish between right and wrong, and leads to the recognition of Allah.

He also mentioned that knowledge brings wisdom, intellect, patience, and gentleness to one's nature. Every student should strive to inherit this legacy of knowledge, which is more precious than gold or silver. The lives of the Hadith scholars and great Islamic scholars are shining examples of sacrifices made in the pursuit of knowledge.

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri explained that for a person who gains insight into Allah's religion, knowledge alone is sufficient. Knowledge honors a person, prevents them from hunger, and stops them from begging. He advised students to aspire to be beggars of knowledge, rather than of worldly things, and always show respect to scholars.

Finally, he urged the students to make a pledge to adorn their lives with the light of knowledge, as a nation deprived of education can never progress.
