Chairman of the Supreme Council, Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, said that Allah Almighty greatly loves the servant who remains thankful in all circumstances and constantly glorifies and praises Him. Gratitude is the very spirit of faith and the hallmark of true servitude, while praise of Allah brings peace to hearts and balance to lives. He expressed these views while addressing organizational office-bearers of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an.
He stated that the Holy Qur’an repeatedly encourages gratitude and declares ingratitude to be a cause of decline and deprivation. Gratitude is not limited to verbal expression alone; rather, it is practically manifested through the proper use of blessings, obedience to Allah, and service to His creation. A servant who shows gratitude upon receiving blessings and adopts patience during trials is elevated by Allah Almighty in rank.
Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further clarified that praise of Allah safeguards a person from arrogance, despair, and restlessness. When a believer praises Allah, the heart remains focused on Him, and the difficulties of life become easier to bear. He said that gratitude refines the inner self of an individual, promotes a positive mindset within society, and leads to moral stability at the collective level.
He added that an effective response to the challenges of the present age lies in making gratitude and praise an integral part of our daily lives. Expressing gratitude for the blessings of faith, health, peace, knowledge, and sustenance is, in fact, a guarantee for the continuity and increase of these blessings. The blessed life of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is a perfect model of gratitude and praise; by following it, we can attain the pleasure of Allah.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council concluded by praying that Allah Almighty grant us the ability to become truly grateful and praising servants, and illuminate our hearts with the light of faith.
