Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, has said that today every individual appears to be surrounded by problems and worries, and the foremost reason behind these difficulties is ingratitude and lack of patience. Expressing gratitude to Allah Almighty and valuing the blessings bestowed by Him is a fundamental part of Islamic teachings.
He said that grateful people not only attain peace and inner satisfaction in their personal lives, but also become a source of goodness, hope, and positive change for society as a whole. Such individuals remain content with the will of their Lord and adopt patience and gratitude as their guiding principles instead of ingratitude.
Dr. Hassan Qadri further stated that the Holy Qur’an declares grateful servants to be beloved to Allah and affirms that gratitude becomes a means for the increase of blessings. A grateful person values every blessing in life—whether it is health, sustenance, knowledge, or peace—and makes proper use of it.
He added that gratitude cultivates humility, contentment, and tolerance within a person, whereas ingratitude gives rise to social disorder, restlessness, and despair. Grateful individuals promote love, tolerance, and brotherhood in society and make service to humanity the purpose of their lives.
He emphasized that in the present era, when despair and negative attitudes are becoming increasingly common, those who practice gratitude and appreciate blessings serve as shining examples of hope for society. He concluded by saying that if individuals and nations collectively adopt gratitude as a way of life, the attainment of social stability, moral elevation, and prosperity becomes possible.
Dr. Hassan Qadri urged every individual to ensure that gratitude in daily life is not confined merely to words, but is reflected through one’s character, actions, and conduct, so that the foundations of a peaceful, strong, prosperous, and exemplary society may be laid.
