An important meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC) of Minhaj-ul-Quran International was held at the Central Secretariat under the chairmanship of Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur. The meeting discussed matters related to Qaid Day, the holy month of Ramadan, and Shehr-e-I‘tikaf (City of Spiritual Retreat).
During the meeting, it was informed that the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, has directed that the best possible arrangements be ensured for worship and spiritual devotion, accommodation and meals, and security for participants arriving for I‘tikaf from Pakistan and various other countries. It was also announced that under the auspices of Minhaj-ul-Quran’s Directorate of Da‘wah and the Ulama Council, Duroos-ul-Quran (Qur’anic lectures) will be organized in 80 cities during the month of Ramadan.
In connection with Qaid Day celebrations under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, it was further decided that book fairs would be organized at the district level starting from 1 February. Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated that Minhaj-ul-Quran is a movement of knowledge and peace, and that all its events are linked to the promotion of knowledge. He therefore emphasized that district organizations should associate Qaid Day activities with the revival of a culture of book reading.
It was also announced that for ten consecutive days during Shehr-e-I‘tikaf, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri (may Allah preserve him) will deliver training lectures on the theme “How to Restore Humanity within Human Beings.”
The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretaries General, heads of departments, forum heads, and members of the Central Executive Council.
